The campaign supporting a constitutional amendment to define marriage in Arizona is reporting a tenfold increase in its fundraising over the past six weeks.
The $6.9 million raised by the YesforMarriage.com campaign comes almost entirely from Arizona donors, campaign supporters say.
"It's been outstanding," said campaign spokeswoman Kelly Molique. "Over 98 percent of our contributions come from Arizona."
That is a high percentage for a ballot measure. Statewide campaigns often draw heavily from interest groups, rather than individuals, and many of those donations come from out of state.
